Well circulated 1942 Philadelphia Multiple strikes half circle from head to President Lincolns tie.See USB microscope pictures on my page.Let me know what you think. Thanks
PMD - Post Mint Damage Another coin was hit against it with lots of pressure causing that indentation. Not a Mint Error.
Hi,the coin does have wear from cirulation. When I first picked it up I thought it was bent.I looked at it under the microscope and then I knew why I felt that way.35 years in circulation then it was put into a container with other wheat cents in the 70s.
First welcome to CT. Your coin is Post Mint Damaged. I don't see anything that would suggest a Doubled die. What I do see is a coin that has multiple strikes from a hammer. Your coin didn't come from the mint that way.
WHAT?...WHAT?...HUH?...DID YOU SAY SOMETHING? These work real good for that but are hard to get these days. Railroad Torpedoes were good clean fun! How I miss the good old days when kids could still blow stuff up. Lol.
That's great, The guy with the hammer. I remember my father telling me, kids used to put coins on the tracks. Thanks for taking the time to look at my 1942.I have other coins I'm going to post soon. Its nice to communicate with people that have experience with coins. And have some laughs too. Check out these photos of the coin it doesn't match the radius of hammer on the thinner side.Look at the eyes and nose to me it looks like two eye sockets and on the nose it looks like a full nose and a half of a nostril. Can anyone tell me the thickness the coin is supposed to be?I have my veneer caliper on the ready. Thanks Everyone for helping!
