The color looked off to me at first glance, so I picked the dime. Still looking for one like that for my type set.
Between the two the dime, though I’ve heard the best purchase one could make is to bring your own Dons John
No contest- the dime is awesome. And was cheaper. And is in slightly more reputable vintage plastic. Actually, it's a tough call. The 2c doesn't look bad, either, though I'm unsure of the color on it, and the NTC grade is (as always with NTC) questionable. "Numistrust". Say it out loud. Sounds kinda like "New Mistrust", doesn't it? That being said, nice coins sometimes made their way into NTC holders, too, and that one certainly doesn't look bad for the money. I like 'em both.
These old pci green holders produce some fantastic colors like the one I picked up at Gettysburg... I paid $50 and would again for a coin that looks like this....
I selected "neither." The surfaces of the 2 cent look odd. I can't put my finger on it, but something doesn't feel right. And, the dime will never get into a reputable holder. That electric blue just looks AT. Sorry, but you asked our opinions. I would not have bought either of these coins.
I prefer the Mercury, but think both were good purchases. I agree with @physics-fan3.14 that the Merc would struggle to cross to PCGS/NGC as they would question the blue color. However, I’ve seen a number of similar ones in PCI holders, so I think it is toning caused by the holder.
