L M - Around 1977 a man showed me a boxed set of box coins all nested in a silver dollar. It looked like a set of Russian nesting dolls called Matroshkas. It ran from the dime up to the dollar. Each inside the next larger. I don't recall what he paid for them but he had bought them that day at an estate auction.
Indeed. Since these are all as unique and individual as snowflakes, there is no real way to have any firm pricing trends. I suppose this niche is really more like the fine art market than the coin market in that regard. That sounds amazing.
Love it. Like engraved or altered early especially trade dollars anyway. And love tokens too. Glad it hadn’t been polished to death too
