A copuple of weeks ago I brought in an Ike to the bank and asked if they had any - and they did - 22 to be exact - I bought them all. Most were AU.

Any that were 1973 (IKES were not issued for general circulation in 1973).

    I did not know that. No - no '73's, alot of 72's some bicentennials, a 77 and 78 couple of 71's and a '74.

All Ikes are good. I would keep every one of them!

The past two years I vacationed in Abilene KS. Ikes boyhood home.
The Eisenhower Center is something that everyone should see, it is amazing!

Last year I got the 1990 commemorative proof there. They did not have them this year. All they had was the 1971 proof. They said they are having a hard time getting them.

They are selling the standard, run of the mill Ikes for $5 apiece

I like them a lot. I carry a 1976 as a pocket piece. Last of the big dollar coins.

Went through $200 in pennies this week, nothing real notable, filled a number of holes in the books, but I did end up with my first blank planchet..

Looked at $1000 in dimes, three of the boxes were 2007s, one 1957 in the last box. Haven't got around to the Roosevelt book yet, so just silver-searching at this point.

No boxes of halves this week. Bank isn't sure what happened to the order... Picked up $~200 of mostly pre-searched rolls, and came away with two 40% Ags..

That is awesome. Is it a copper planchet or a zinc planchet. (Zinc is about 2.5g and Copper is greater than 3g, don't remember the exact numbers off the top of my head).

You know, I didn't even think to check that.. I'll have to ring it when I get home tonight. With the condition that it's in, I'd almost expect that it's a zinc planchet, though.. Pretty decent shape.

Oh, and also found a 1989 RDV-005, but it's got some corrosion or somesuch on it. Not entirely sure what to do with it, but hey, hope that those 1992 RDV-007 (close-AM) varieties are out there still.. :)

And speaking of weighing coins in, is there a decent, sensitive, (preferably digital, 'cause I'm lazy) scale out there for a reasonable price? (Or should I just get one of those OHaus things we had in Science class as a kid? :))

I love the big dollar coins.

I carry a '22-S Peace dollar in my pocket. I take it out for coin-flips, scratch ticket scrastching or just play with it when i'm bored. A lot of younger kids have never seen a big coin like that, let alone a silver coin, so it's fun to show

Went through about $100 dollars of pennies. A 1916 and a 1919 and a 1919S. A 1933 and '36 Canadian too, Canadian oldies are so much harder to find for me, which is weird as I live here :S

I found a 1943 american cent too. It is in REALLY bad condition, but its cool to have.

That's awesome. I have the 1943 I pulled out of circulation and am hoping to someday still find the D and S ones too (from circulation).
