Rutt's? I used to be REAL close to Green Dragon, but now I have to get familiar with the one at the State Farm Show arena here in Harrisburg, where we lost the state championship in basketball in 1973.

Pennsylvania State Farm Show opens in 40 hours or so. The massive butter sculpture was on the news tonight. As anyone from central PA knows - when the Farm Show opens, prepare for a semi-blizzard.

Unbelievably enough, I've never been to the one in Manheim. Tuesday as a market day never worked for me.

I've been there a few times on Tuesdays.
It seems they are now open on Friday only.
I don't think I'll be going there today.

No, No, Green Dragon is and always has been Friday (coin auction every Friday, too!). (Not a great one - you have to wade through some junk.)

The aforementioned Root's, at Manheim, is the Tuesday market.

Thanks, no wonder Green Dragon wasn't open the last time I went by there.

Yeah, the buildings just sit there idle six days a week. Throw in a little menacing-looking overcast, and it's an M. Night Shyamalan set.

Design by the House of Tiffany. Should have come in a light blue box.

I'm pretty sure I have one of those somewhere. At least it's on my inventory list.

Who is Alice Paul, and why is she on a First S(p)ouse coin?

Also, I've heard a lot about Harriet Tubman going on the $20 (for better or worse), but did y'all know that they are redesigning the $10 and $5 as well? I hadn't heard anything about that: https://www.treasury.gov/press-center/press-releases/Pages/jl0436.aspx

This sort of rustic fare calls for something like a Cotes du Rhone.

I think souse in particular undergoes some pickling, which makes wine pairing tricky. I would go with a light and refreshing sparkling wine, such as a Prosecco. You could try a sweeter rose as well.

    Yeah, that's apparently a thing.

Check out this movie for an entertaining glimpse at the competitive butter carving circuit. The movie is actually quite good: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1349451/
