Welcome to the board! Blank penny or cent is fine - we know what you mean. As mentioned the grade on the indian head cent (IHC for short) will determine its value. From the sounds of it if you can read liberty it which would put it at around F or better. And it sounds like you have a nice start to a lincoln wheatie set.
Wait one, calm down! Samantha, why do you list the 1898 cent as an ' Indian Head Wheat '. Please describe the reverse for us. What you should see is not wheat ears but a wreath of Oak branches.
Actually it would just be indian head cent. Pictures will help us determine the grade of the coin. That will determine the value. There are a lot of things that can be done to make a coin look like it is in "perfect shape" - these things actually reduce the value of a coin. So it could be anywhere from a few dollars to hundreds of dollars, but we need pictures.
First, welcome to the neighborhood! It's always best if you start your own thread because it makes it easier for you to refer back to it in the future. It's also best if you include good photos of both sides if you want accurate estimates of the value. Chris
