    I wanted to share my latest and my last Mint Error acquisition for 2017 :D

    $1 Eisenhower - Denver Mint - Bicentennial - Type 2
    Straight Clip (Incomplete Planchet)

    It is a Blank that was punched out from the end or the edge of the metal sheet.

    There can't be a ton of bi-centennial errors out there. I would think that makes this piece even more desirable.

    There is a misconception about the word 'Clip' or 'Clipped'...
    Coins are never clipped after they are struck. The Blank Planchets are punched out close to the previous blank that was punched out so that why it appears to be clipped. In this case the Blank was punched out from the end of the strip or the edge.

    Have you ever given any thought to contacting some local Boy Scout troops to offer to teach a coin collecting merit badge class? I think with your knowledge and coin examples, it would make a fine class.

    I tried. I need to get myself a new USB camera or microscope. It's hard to take a pictures of slabbed coins. But there is no doubling if that's what you are thinking about.
    The O in GOD took a hit and the 1976 has what looks like a bit of Mechanical doubling at certain angles -

    Surprisingly, there are quite a few.

    It looked better in the NGC Slab!
    Thanks for sharing. I have been collecting a lot of Ike Mint Errors. I just got a Book on Dollar coins. I will be reviewing it then posting all of my Ike errors. Be on the look out... or I will tag you then ;)
