Is this an error or something else?

    I have this dime and I'm pretty sure this is a mint error. Its very obvious on the front and on the back the 'ime' in dime appears to be wiped off. Could someone tell me how much would it be worth?

    Looks like you have a Missing Partial Clad or a Defective Clad Planchet Mint Error. I have a few of these in my collection.
    Raw examples are worth about $25.00 - $40.00 IMHO

    I would have said Glue even though it looks like something going on under it.

    I enlarged and cropped your pictures. It's an intriguing Dime! I love it.
    I believe it's more of a Planchet Defect Mint Error.

    Looks like a missing clad layer, as mentioned. The part with no detail was missing at striking and is unstruck. The rest of the missing part was broken loose somehow after (or even as) the coin was struck, since we see a mushy version of the design there.
