I have to use the shine to show the line. Here is a negative of the first photo with arrows pointing to the lines on the 1 and 9:
...or copper plating shifting during the striking....not an error, more a minor anomaly, and a very very common effect.
Here I have tried to raise the light further letting the glare move further up the date showing the portion that is raised higher
You can take all the photos you want, change the position of the lighting again and again and photoshop everything until the cows come home, but it ain't gonna change nuthin'! Chris
Some extremely knowledgeable collectors and error specialists have told you that it isn't a doubled die. However, if you keep insisting you see something, Go here http://doubleddie.com . Look through all of Wexler's 1984 doubled dies. If you can't find an exact match, contact Mr. Wexler to see if he has any interest in looking at it. Also, I would book mark that sight and check it out if you think you find any other potential doubled dies
