1806 Draped Bust Half Dollar

I got my first Draped Bust Half Dollar in the mail several days ago! PCGS graded it as Fine-12. I love the Draped Bust series, and I purchased it for a more than reasonable price. I think that it’s an O-114.

Looks like a very attractive original coin, with some of the "circulated cameo" look that a lot of us drool over.

 

It appears attractive and original. If you are happy with it at the price you paid, then I will congratulate you!

However, I think it is overgraded. It should be VG8 at best, but possibly lower.

 

I like it at F12. This series got me back into coins again after a long hiatus.

Great coin that looks good at the grade

 

Very nice half dollar. I like the die crack going through the date and the stars on the left of the obverse.

 

I like the grade as it is. A nice original coin with good surfaces and a cool die crack

That was my first thought as well. Probably the reason you got it for such a good price.

 

Scuffs on the holder make it hard to see the reverse. Nice pickup!

In hand, the scuffs aren't as bad, but they are noticeable. I tried cleaning the plastic with soap/water, but I think that the scuffs are on the inner side of the plastic.
