I know the pics are close up. The microscope is attached to a base, I have a tripod I am going to mount it on. I have more pics of reverse but could not post anymore pics to the post.
So, what you are saying is that we can look at the "bark of the tree" but we can't tell if the tree, itself, is dead. That's why many of these confounded USB microscopes are a waste of time. A camera, even if it is a cell phone camera, is a must-have for coin photography. Chris
Indeed, and is particularly true considering the different lens attachments widely available today. Unfortunately, we've a number of members regularly promoting the most God-awful "USB scopes" imaginable instead of what, for most, would be a much better option.
I will admit that the images taken by Alan @coinzip with his Dino-Lite are superb. Of course, you have to pay for quality. Chris
While not to par with better camera setups, they're different and more versatile tools, so one shouldn't expect them to be. Of course I didn't mean to include them in the "god awful" category, but there are many perfectly deserving of the title.
I didn't think that you did. I was only mentioning that because most of the USB scopes that are used here are not the best quality. Chris
All is well, and trust me.... I wish those preferring such things would spend up for the type you mentioned. The low quality ones we're talking about, well, let just say that my eyes are getting to old for this sh.... Merry Christmas!
