To my friends in the Great Plains snow country I sent this one: so to you my friends here on the forum, Merry Christmas
@cpm9ball I sent that one out a few years ago. I think I sent it out this year too. Every year I send out Christmas cars with trains. I took a bunch of them (cards) mixed them a sent them out.
My dad retired with 40 years working for the B&O. 35 plus years ago I worked on a tie unit for the B&O a couple of summer breaks from college.
Beautifull Christmas Cards! Merry Christmas to everyone, and Best Wishes for the Season! I also was fascinated with trains, got a train set on my 6 th. Birthday....Here is one of my notes depicted a train John
Merry Christmas to you; my grandfather worked Illinois Central and C&O; my best friend in Canada was Canadian Pacific.
Sending Christmas greetings by writing on banknotes was apparently unique to the CBI theatre in WWII as they are only found on Chinese notes. It may be that inflation made the lower denominations valueless as money and an easy canvas for Christmas.
I live near there in Olney... CSX is the owner now. My firend Rick was a B&O officianado and also Steam Loco engr for the US Army at Ft Eustes, VA.
