Do I seriously what? Think it's worth more than another Lincoln that I find on the sidewalk?

    Heck no!

    Scary ain't it?

Jump starting the bidding or just really stupid. Either way ebay gets the fees.

There are quite a few folks out there who will place bids on auctions like these for just that reason. They are hoping to discourage sellers from placing these auctions by costing them money. Want to get somebody's attention - get in their wallet. They soon catch on.

Perhaps the bid was retracted, no current bids--
I hope that it costs him a fortune to list.

    nice red herring quotes....
    "Estimated Value $1,000,000.00 - $2,000,000.00 +"
"Coin was sent to the ANACS in Calif. as well as to (2) other certification/grading companies to be certified and graded. All (3) times the coin was returned graded Extra Fine Condition, Error Type Unknown...."
"...US Mint says no more errors with new equipment installed."

wow, throw in ebnuff 'truths' and people will belive anything....

thank goodness still no bids yet

Yah eBay gets fees, but what's the maximum they'll get five bucks? And they would get that anyway even if no one bid. I think $5 is the maximum listing fee isn't it. Final value fees don't apply because they will only get those if the buyer follows through and actually honors his bid.(Of course the seller may have to front the FVF while he waits the ten days before he can file the NPB claim and get his fees back. That could hurt.)

Man Conder101 you almost sound like you work for ebay. LOL.

True, they may net $5 out of this but how many MILLION auctions do they run a year? Every one counts when you start multiplying by millions.

    Thankfully the lot was pulled.
Hopefully they still charged the seller the fees.
