Mine arrived yesterday (Thursday, 12/22). After debating for a few minutes, I decided to open it, since we will be on the road* to Florida over the weekend. Getting ready to leave* in just a moment. I'll post pix upon my return, or maybe I'll put those things in my bag and photograph 'em after we get to Florida. Let's just say that my S.S. did their research very carefully and thoughtfully "targeted" my gifts. Scored some hits, too. One is pretty remarkable. (* Dear would-be thief who got ideas when I mentioned we're leaving: don't bother. All coins are in my safe deposit box, and most of the rest of our belongings are total crap. We CAN spare a cat or two, however, if you promise to treat 'em well.)
Phhh. I thought about clicking the Like link, but then got this alert: Hey, the forum software has become intelligent when it comes to christmassy clickbait posts? Nah, that comes up when you visit Coin Talk with Javascript turned off ... Christian
Shows mine has arrived at its destination when I check the tracking number.I hope my secret Santa got the package. Merry Christmas and A Happy Holidays to everybody.
I would have opened my gift, My son was standing next to me, so I have to wait. Hanging till Christmas day.
So my wife found out yesterday, due to an emergency with a co-worker, she has to work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. This is the 1st time since we have been together that one of us had to work the holiday. As a result we decided to have Christmas early this year. Opened gifts this morning and put the Ham in an hour ago. My SS gift was the last one I opened and WOW...Error coin city!!! My SS sent me several coins (all errors) in blank 2x2s and a flip. Meaning I got the pleasure of figuring out what each error was. I figured out all but one..have to do a little research to confirm this one. There was also 2 unsearched BU rolls of 2017P LSCs taken right out of a bank box. Thank You...unsearched BU rolls from any mint are impossible to get in my small town. The fact that these are from Philly is even better. By the time most Philly coins get this far NW they are pretty beat up....Not sure if I am going to search these or hold on to them for a while. Now for the list of errors. 1910S LWC- I'm pretty sure this is a woody. This is now my oldest LWC 1937P LWC- Reverse Lamination Error. 1941P LWC- Clipped Planchet error. My 1st clipped planchet of any kind. 1942P LWC- Retained Lamination Error. ???? LC- This one is a Blank Planchet. This is also my 1st one of these. ???? LMC- Off Center Strike...Looks to be about 55%. The date is missing. 1983P LMC- This one is the one I am not so sure one. Could be off center but it just doesn't quite look right for that. 1962P- Nickel- Clipped Planchet. Never had one before and I get 2 at once!! 1974D Kennedy Half- Reverse Struck through error. This looks UNC and the reverse has a decent size crater on it from whatever debris was on the die. Thank you SS...whomever you are. You know what I like. I plan to take close-ups of each and post them in their appropriate forums for all to see.
Very cool coins, I love errors! Edit: P.S. I'm very sorry about the fact that you and your wife will not be able to enjoy Christmas on Christmas Day.
So my SS will know I recieved a box in the mail today, and it's a little hefty. I'm going to my grandaughters house tomarrow for Christmas Eve and gonna save it for then.
Thank you to my secret Santa I tried to hold out but I couldn't. Thank you so much, the people is this group are so kind and generous.
No love 2nd year. But I refuse to give up! I got notice that mine arrived today - hot off the sleigh! Hopefully to the right address!
To SS: I my received my gift sometime within the last 2 weeks not sure exactly when, been away for work. I would like to wait until I know for sure the one that I shipped out has reached its destination before I open mine, if that's ok with you. Hope you understand and thank you.
