    Hi all,
After almost 7 years of Metal Detecting and 2 different wonderful Detectors, I decided to start counting all the coins I have found and saved from detecting beaches and parks. Believe it or not I have saved every single coin! :wacky:
    I started with the Quarters...
These are 2,156 Quarters with a grand total of $539.00 -

This is not including silver and damaged Quarters that I kept separately.

I will do the Dimes, Nickels, Halves and Dollars on a separate thread..
So be on a lookout! :watching:

(I won't even bother with the Cents since they are in the thousands)

How long did it take you to count all of those quarters?

    Thanks,

Haha.. I actually started making a record from the very beginning. I just added the total of Quarter finds to the last count ;)
But I only did the count with the Quarters.
All other coins I will count soon.

So how close could you come to filling a "Dug Dansco" for the business strike state quarters?

Paddyman, I have saved all my quarters from metal detecting also. I have a grand total of $5.00 so far. I have a ways to go to catch to you. Only been detecting 5 months and enjoying it a lot.

LOL! Funniest post I've read in ages. Hope you find the 50 cents in 2 hits rather than 50.

It took a couple of years, but I found all of the state quarters. The last one was Missouri!

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

You've kept everything you've ever dug? Wow.

As with the dimes thread, I'm wondering how many of these are silver versus clad? Have you tallied the dates?

Most of the Quarters have Environmental Damage due to being buried for a long period of time -

    Yes.. Everything!

I have the silver separated from all the clad. Every time I returned home with the days finds I searched all of them. I have done better finding silver with My new Minelab than with my old Whites Metal Detector. One day I will create a thread for the silver ;)

No.. I never tallied the dates. Too much work. But I have separated the older Pre- 1982 Cents. The best looking Cents! Some that I have found at beaches are amazing. 1950's 60's and 70's

They are readily accepted at all parking meters, toll booths and laundromats.

I knew i wasn't the only one building a set of state quarters with a detector!! I'm up to 24!! But I don't find the P mints very often around here. That is an impressive hoard of quarters!!

I didn't really look for details; just trying to dig up all of the states. You wouldn't believe all the Tennessee and Georgia Quarters people drop in New Jersey!

That's a lot of coins! I wonder how many hours were spent sweeping that detector back and forth.....
