The last place I would ever try to sell a rare foreign coin is at a coin shop or pawn shop. God only knows the number of people getting screwed by them when they are trying to sell a dead relatives' coin collection.
Of course. I would advise, nay plead with collectors here, to type up instructions and put them in your coin collection area on who to sell to if you are gone. I have seen value just destroyed by selling to inappropriate places. I have a listing in my sdb instructing my wife where to send ancient coins, US coins, and my books if I happen to pass. It may take 6-9 months for her to get the proceeds, but I believe it will maximize the amount of money she will receive should I be gone. Please think of loved ones and their well being regarding your coin collection. It is something simple for you to you, and of great value to them.
Great advice. We don't always get the chance to say goodbye and leave detailed instructions when we leave this Earth.
