That particular word is not exactly modern German ;) but yes, such long compounds are fairly common here, especially in legalese and administrative language. In 2013 the state parliament of Mecklenburg West Pomerania finally did away with its Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz monster. So we are making progress ...

Late checking in, but I think you made a fabulous choice and it's in keeping with your 'box'. Eclectic, cool backstory, and has the 'look'.

Thank you. Once Phil Arnold or his staff at PGGS Photo get their hands on it, it should look pretty awesome. I have yet to get my own hands on it just yet, but @H8_modern's photos were enough to ascertain that I really wanted this one. I was lukewarm at first (distracted by other stuff), but the more I thought about it the better I liked it.

Thanks as before to all who expressed thoughts and opinions here. It's a big help, even when I end up going off on a detour and buying something not even included in the original poll.

I really enjoy these threads. While I retain enough self-confidence to make my own decisions, the extra input really helps. These polls and especially people's replies to the threads have strongly influenced my decision making more than once.
