I have been going through rolls of Lincolns that I got from my CU, but haven't really found much. I was just looking at this '83 and noticed the "I" resembles the West side of the "B". There is slight damage on the South side of the "I" due to being circulated. You guys are the experts, so what do you think? Thanks again! Jeff
i'm not sure if it is that uncommon. possibly a die chip, not real sure but i'm thinking it's something that happens with regularity. i think i have seen that before on other years. steve
Jeff, It's a die crack Also know as a Pick up Point.(PUP) I do see something happening on the last T in Trust. I can't be for sure. Could you post more picture's? Rhubarb
Rhubarb: FYI: Pick up point (PUP) simply means the point where a variety (or error) may be identified.
Your right Treashunt. Perhap's I should have said that. The PUP on varieties and error's for different Dates and MM are usually different depending on the year. Let us not forget that All dies are prone to crack. Don't forget the Classes 1-9. Now there Wavy Steps and Die Trails. This is a interesting Hobby. Don't you think? Rhubarb
Rhubarb Very interesting, and cherrypicking is tons of fun. Still wondering if you cherried that 1936 DD.
I did Cherrypick it from a roll I had in my collection. It is fun when you can get on a roll. Rhubarb
