Awesome French token minted for some wealthy French brothers during the small change crunch of the time, but minted in in Great Britain by Mathew Boulton on his new fangled steam powered minting machines. One of the first really modern coins. This thing is "medallic" at nearly 40 mm and over 28 g.

    Has edge lettering as well!

If interested, here is a cool page about the Soho mint, check out under tokens the "Monnerons".

I like those big old copper coins. I can read some of the Chinese characters there, the first one has "Si Chuan" (the name of the province we call 'Sichuan' or 'Szechwan' in English) at 12 and 6 o'clock on the reverse. The other coin is Japanese 1 sen, Meiji year 11 - 1878 AD. I have a couple similar coins, yours is in really nice condition.

its about 1910-33 Tibet Rupee. The Chinese government didn't like the encroachment in Tibet of the British rupee so they created the Tibet rupee and minted them in Sichuan province. These are quite collected and prices about 150-300 for the common pieces the more scare ones drive a lot higher prices.

The other copper piece is a japan occupation piece used in china if i'm not mistaken. its a common piece.
