2000 penny I think it's a wide a.m. Found it 2day is it worth selling and if so what's my next step. I can't find any forsale on the net. thanks
Perhaps the reason that you can't find anything for it is because it is the most common WAM of all. Did you learn about this coin on BoobTube or did you read about it in the book, "Strike It Rich With Pocket Change"? Chris
Rick, you biffed it on this one. The OP's coin is a WAM. Perhaps it is because of the blurry pictures
What I'd like to know is why anyone would think that this coin could be worth more than one cent. It's in terrible condition. Chris
I think you can see a bit of the serif(?) on the bottom stick of the G. Again, it's blurry so hard to tell for sure IMO.
Definitely not worth more than 1c. I keep all the WAMs I come across because I like them, but the 2000 is the most common and your coin is in pretty rough shape.
I asked a simple question, and you were offended by it. I'm only trying to make the point that those are two sources that you should not assume are correct. Chill a bit! Chris
I think this tells all we need to know about Gravedigger! 34 years old and he wants to make a fast buck selling a worthless penny. Chris
Well, welcome to the forum GraveDigger! I hope you stay and try to learn a few things from some people on here. There are very knowledgeable people on here. You'll find you don't like some of the responses from time to time but we all can write a response that comes across as bad when we're really trying to help. You did find a wide AM. Nice catch on that one. The green you see is a cancer and it's not even worth cleaning. The "zincoln" cents are not wearing well at all and you find A LOT of these issues and bubbles and rot all over the place. Horrible. Do you know how to check Ebay to see what certain types of coins have sold for? Red book/Blue book or a coin magazine? @cpm9ball , I get your disdain about youtube. There are two guys I follow on there who give very good advice and have a good educational show. Many do not and it's a brain drain so I get that. What is the general disdain fro the strike it rich with pocket change? Generally the same thing? Could you get good info but most don't use it for that, just a quick buck?
Before I get hammered for this one (as I am proofreading after posting). DON'T EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER clean a coin. (Unless wiser people than I tell you to do so!!!)
I've always believed in an old adage, "Those who can, do! Those who can't, teach!" I've modified this adage slightly as it pertains to coin collectors. "Those who can, do! Those who can't, sell books!" Chris
It doesn't make any difference. It's the damn people who believe what they've read that create the problem. Chris
