:confused:All: A couple of quick questions:

What would be the max you would pay for IKE dollars in bulk? I have an opportunity to buy up to 400 of them. I want to build an IKE Set, which will be my first set other than the 50 state quarters. The others, I would probably try to resell.

Also, I have found a place where I can pick up 07 AES's for dealer cost, which i am being told that is less than $15.00 each. Is this true and a good price.

Thanks for your valuable advice in advance.

Silver is up to 15.70 I do not think someone is going to sell for less then that.
if the Ike's are uncirculated that is a different price then circulated ones
I guess you are not talking about silver Ike's?

I would spend $1.50 per Ike. A bit more if they were higher grade...Mike

I would pay $1.00 for the Ikes if they are circulated. You didn't mention condition so I'm assuming they are pulled from circulation and are in a bag or rolls.

Ikes are a dead series at the moment. Hard to move so if you end up trying to unload them, it might be difficult. I guess you can always spend them. Anytime anyone is selling 400 of anything, you should ask yourself ...why? ..LOL.

ASEs for spot is always a good deal. Kitco has them selling for $18.16 at the moment.

last time I was at my local bank I asked them out of curiosity if they had any Ikes, and they told me they had 188 of them. So I could have gotten 188 Ikes (probably all average circulated) for $188......I bought 10 of them which I will probably just spend for fun.

I don't think there will be any profit in keeping and selling ikes for another 15 to 25 years. They are too recent, too many out there, and too many people saved them thinking they'd be worth something.

    You've obviously never cherrypicked a '72 type 2. ;)

at $1.50 an Ike, after buying 400 of them even if you do find a '72 type 2 and resell it, you've wasted $200 on the rest of the Ikes which aren't really worth more then $1 so in the end you don't really make a profit.

If you're just getting them at a bank for face value then go for it since there's no loss. But i doubt there is justification for paying $1.50 each on them for circulated grades.

And on a sidenote, if you did find a '72 type 2 just from doing searches, you are a very special person :)

    Thanks!

All: THansk for the input! The deal for the IKEs fell through. I did stop by my credit union and they did not have any IKE or sidollars other than the presidental dollars.

I did pick up $30 dollars worth of Kennedys. Have not had a chance to go through them yest. Hopefully this weekend!!

    Later!!
