Nice finds! Wonder whats under the gunk on the coins? Maybe a distilled water soak to start the conservation process?

You'll probably need to do some significant cleaning, but it looks like the crust will come off on most of those. Try some distilled water for an overnight soak (or a few days if you can be patient). I used a dental pick on my uncleans to remove the crust and it worked pretty well in some cases. I also used the olive oil method (a few weeks in olive oil) also followed up with a dental pick and a toothbrush. This method tends to impart a dark color to the coins so I'm warning you about that. Do not use liquid descaler on the coins as it will destroy detail and remove patina. (I learned about that the hard way, even though some sites recommend this technique).

    Good Luck!

Re liquid descaler. I had a nice little Arcadius in almost perfect condition under the crud with a cross on the reverse. I was pretty excited, but then when I touched the reverse with a toothbrush all of the reverse detail came off. I was left with a slug. Quite depressing.
