Currently there is a listing on eBay (eBay item number:272967668995) for a NGC Jefferson Full Steps MS67 that I believe in no way should have been given that FS designation. They are asking over $600 for it.
Anyway - I can't see how in the world this got a Full Steps.
Am I wrong? What do you all think.

That linked coin is not identified either on the slab or in the auction as "Full Steps."

The seller says “nearly full step.” Sort of like all the eBay Morgans that are “nearly Proof like.” Wishful thinking by a seller trying to pump his coin.

OK - Looks like I jumped the gun a bit. I was doing a search for FULL STEPS and saw that one because I just got a 1962-P certified from ANACS as 5 FULL STEPS.
I just hate when people put in their title NOT PCGS or NOT Double Die, or NOT anything. If it isn't, it isn't. You don't have to say NOT. It really screws up a search.
That guy is sure asking a lot of a NOT FULL STEPS nickel. I have a 1948-S PCGS MS66 that would be a perfect FULL STEPS if not for a single light bag mark across three of the steps. Perhaps I should list that on ebay for $600 and say NOT FULL STEPS and see what I get for it. BTW - it still isn't even a 'nearly full step' either.
'Nearly full steps' is like being almost pregnant. It either is or it isn't. Not sort of, nearly, almost, kinda, or any host of other words.

My favorite are the people who list Mercury dimes as 66% full bands because the upper and lower bands are there...the center is FLAT.

They use the term NOT <insert phrase here> because it affects the search results and makes it appear will all of the coins that are ACTUALLY <insert phrase here>

The next thing you know NCG and PCGS will start using that term on Mercs.

'Nearly'.......'almost'..........only works with Horseshoes and Hand Grenades.

I’ve been assembling a set of Jefferson war nickels. One enterprising seller on eBay advertises his as “4 full steps.” Even puts his own tag on them.

I'm probably just jaded - compared to the utter ripoffs happening on Ebay on a daily basis, I filter stuff like that out without even seeing it. :)
