this is a joke right? full pics of both sides please, what country is it from? what denomination? kinda looks like a US Cent but why should we guess?

I believe that it is the Lincoln cent "Formative Years". Isn't that the log cabin? Why would you need full images of both sides of the coin. Do you think it might be counterfeit?

I do in fact believe that this is a DDR, but determining is so difficult it might be more worthwhile to send t Wexler and seeing if it's new or already existing.

 

FYI: log cabin is "early years", lincoln sitting on log reading book is "formative years" .....

 

These Log cabin log ends have about a bazillion combinations of doubling I know I have 4 or 5 different examples I’ve found of the Early Childhood Rev with log end doubling. I don’t know what the #’s are-don’t care. I only kept the ones that were clearly doubled. I never keep hard to see minor errors when I can find better examples that can be seen in hand by eye.
BTW just compare your coin next to another it should be clear if it’s an error coin. No need to send it to Wexler IMO. Good eye keep up the hunt

Yea I’m a Lincoln nut.

 

After looking at Wexlers site and at the 125 plus examples of log doubling it would seem the doubling occurs on the ends of logs #5 and up. Your log in question is #3 It would seem that you log is just a normal log IMO. This is just my opinion. I hope I’m wrong for your sake.

 

Anyone truly able to answer the question would also certainly be able to identify the coin from the posted photo, but you're right that it is always wise to provide as much info as possible, particularly when asking such a detail oriented question.

That said, I cannot help but to think this likely a hit. Still, taking the time to find out for sure would be a good exercise. With some, but not all, of the EC varieties it's actually easier to compare markers than the "doubling" itself. Good luck.

 

Okay I’ll dig my Cabins out an take a look at them to see if they exhibit any 3rd log anomalies. If mine are all the same and match yours.... you get the idea. One more thing I don’t remember seeing it or not I just assumed this is a Philadelphia minted coin.

Well just looked at Wexlers site again. Looks like none of the documented Denver minted coins on his site exibit doubling below the 6th log. Again the log in question is the 3rd log up from the bottom. I’ll keep looking for my errors to compare to yours.
