I only see 14...I must be getting old too . (Was there an edit to the OP that I missed?) NVM--I meant the points/comments by the OP, not by the subsequent posters (and edited my response to reflect). I AM getting old!
My Dad picks up a few to give out as gifts. He found some dinosaur copper rounds at the last coin show and picked them up for my nephew. Cheap and who cares if the 3 year old gets his finger prints on them?
I paid 1.50 for each shipped on ebay. Real bargain when you consider they are worth about a dime. LOL.
I've got a few. I got them because I liked the look of them. What's wrong with that? They are a lot cheaper than a cup of coffee and all you get for that is to look at an empty plastic cup afterwards. And I'm not old.
This thread has destroyed the hobby of coin collecting. Please take a moment to think about what you've done here.
Why? What has collecting a few shiny copper rounds got to do with coin collecting? Are coin collectors not allowed to have other interests?
If you really want to over pay for copper / bronze look no further than the US Mint !! a few months ago I picked these up and a few others .. for about $40 each. https://catalog.usmint.gov/shop/medals/
Collect what makes you happy, who cares if others done like it . The one thing that I'm not quite sure of about your reasoning, is did you do it because you were old?
I like Reason #14 the best. And nope, you didn't bore me at all. In fact, you made my day and also reminded me of the true reason for coin collecting. Looking forward to more of your posts.

I bought three copper rounds on a trip my wife and I took to Alaska recently. I had never seen them before, and some of them had designs remarkably similar to the design they were trying to imitate (i.e., Mercury dime, Walking Liberty half dollar, Buffalo nickel). I thought they were attractive, they didn't cost much ($3 apiece), and I thought I could get a column out of them when I got home, which I did.
