I dont how to correct the title sorry !! its 1984 and that's the same coin back and front and im not talking about the tone. im talking about any one else seeing doubling and rolling of metal on his neck and the fact the one of the leaves in the left hand back of the coin is completely shreaded. and this is not a worn out coin!!! @cpm9ball @Youngcoin
No, it's not a"worn out coin", quite, but it IS pitted. This one appears to have been in contact with an acidic substance which partially ate through the outer copper-nickel layer, causing those little pockmarks and the damage to the leaf you mentioned. This could be environmental damage. The vertical striations on the obverse appear to have been the result of abrasion. This is a damaged coin and not an error. It does have a mildly interesting appearance, however. But it's a "spender".
Exactly what I was thinking when I saw the surface of the reverse. Glad to see I am getting better at identifying these things myself.
