I can't wait to find out what is inside these rolls. My friend from work is a collector and one of his customers gets rid of some of his collection from time to time. He brought these to me the other day and wanted to know if I wanted them. $10. I said heck yes! They've been on my desk for about 3 weeks now. What do you think? Open them or leave them be and let the suspense build? This bank has been closed since 09-30-74.
@Bambam8778 Nah! They're not worth opening. I'll bet they're all circulated from the late 60's or early 70's. Chris
Paradise, Pa I've been there many time. I'll be there Saturday for our annual family train ride. Here's a photo from Paradise.
Open one and see how it is. If the first one disappoints, keep the rest or see what you can get for the rest online.
Hey, Paradise, PA is in my home sphere! Eastern Lancaster County. Just one range of hills farther south. Have a go! If there's even one full-step in there from that era, you've struck metaphorical gold! But here's the downside - I own a huge stack of VERY old nickel wrappers, so there's not much comfort in their age.
I don't like to do things half so I want to make sure I have enough time devoted to really look the coins over inside these rolls so I'm not missing anything. I opened one of the ends and there is a '47 on the end of one, '64 on another. So that's a little promising.
Yes! I'll wait until I have a day off by myself so I can get a couple hours uninterrupted quiet time to look them over correctly. I'm not new at this but I'm not seasoned either so I don't want to miss anything!
Once again we have a member who insists on posting PROVOCATIVE images. These images you have posted are akin to NICKEL PORN. YOU MUST STOP NOW AND LEAVE THE SITE. oh yea leave the rolls of nickels here SO WE CAN OPEN THEM!!!! Lol.
I think I may have off 2 Wednesday’s from now. Will I go Christmas shopping or will I be opening rolls of nickels? Stay tuned friends to find out more..........
