Recently acquired lot of these 1909 vdb wheat pennies wanted to get opinions on the condition and if you think I should get them graded? All coons are mostly in same condition as pic.
Sorry to bother you, but I am a new member as well and I would like to post a pic of a coin I have, but cannot figure out how to do it. How did you do it? I’m using an IPhone.
Hard to judge grade from those pics, but they appear to be attractive red cents. My guess is the grades will mostly be around 63-64. The 1909 VDB is actually a fairly common coin, and it will not be worth it to submit them. You'd need to be fairly certain of 65/66 grades to make it worth it. You can check out values on the NGC webpage, which is my preferred price guide: https://www.ngccoin.com/price-guide/united-states/cents/99/
Nice VDBs. Getting any of them graded is a personal choice. But if you want it to be "worth it," (you want to increase the VDB's value to a potential buyer when selling) take Physics Fan's advice.
Grading is always had from a photo, but those do look red and in good shape. Some PCGS grades 1909 VDB reds of brought prices of $55 (MS63-RD) to over $300 (MS66-RD) at auction during 2017. A MS67 went at $1,800 and we won't even talk about a MS68. You have already seen where others are at on the Grades, and I think those are certainly in the ballpark, maybe even a grade higher. Just remember, eyeball grading's are a "best guess" and total costs of grading and auctioning are going to eat up near half the cost on the lower end; it's your coins, money and potential profit/loss. BTW, those shown are nice looking coins. Semper Fidelis
Nice red uncirculated coins. pretty common in that grade for that date. Why would you want to get them graded?
I'm not sure what to do with an Iphone in regards to uploading photos, as all of my photogs are here on my laptop or on thumb drives. All you do his hit the 'upload a file button' (under the dialog box) and find the particular file on your device. It's quite simple, really. Welcome to the forum.
Green18 For me in iPhone I hit the (upload a file) Then choose a file And pick from library BTW: Thank You everyone for the help!
Thanks Erik for asking the question I also need answered. I've been reading the forum for some time and been a member for a couple of weeks. However, I've tried several times to figure out how to post a picture. Green18, I don't have an 'upload a file button' under the dialog box. I only have 'post reply' and 'more options'. My pictures are on my pc. Thanks in advance to anyone who is able to help me figure this out.
OK.............simple as pie. When ya wanna post a pick, you hit the 'upload a file' button. See it here..... After ya hit the 'upload a file' button, this appears on your screen..... Choose a particular file from your computer..... Hit 'open' and you get this...... Click 'full image' and yer in like Flint........
Thanks, green18. Like I said, I don't have a 'upload a file' button. I only have 'post reply' and 'more options'. That's it. I have messaged one admin several weeks ago for help with this issue, but no response and no action to help me. I'd really like to share a few of my amazing finds .... especially my 'greasy ghost'.
