A sensible Stevex6 coin heading my way

I know I said I wouldn't buy any more coins this year (where have we heard that before?) :p But I felt bad not helping Stevex6 out, and wanted to give one of his coins a home here in south Florida. The thing is, Stevex6 collected a lot of amazing coins, but most are probably not a good fit for my collection (setting aside the price). He had a lot of coins for sale though, and I had a feeling deep in the vaults of the Stevex6 collection I'd find a coin that would fit my current collecting focus well, the Crisis of the Third Century.

Well, it don't get better than this. A Roman Empress from the middle of the crisis years, married to one of the longest reigning emperors of this turbulent era, Gallienus.

Here then is a purchase that not only helps Steve, but also makes a lot of sense for my collection. These days I'm not really adding much outside this area of interest, as well...other ancient coins are just not as interesting as Roman coinage from the mid-3rd Century crisis years. Feel free to scream blasphemy!

    Get well Stevex6.

I have not seen @stevex6 around here much, bit I didn't know he was sick. Is there more you can tell us @Sallent about how he is doing?

A coin very much out of my wheelhouse but I can appreciate its historical interest. Very nice!

Not that pretty, but my database (Bento) makes it easy for me to tag records to put certain obverse photos together. It's definitely fun, I'm glad you gave me an excuse to make a new virtual tray, @Sallent. I definitely share your enthusiasm for the 3rd century crisis! (Although @maridvnvm's virtual tray for this would be truly amazing... except we wouldn't be able to see any of the coins as they'd be tiny dots!)

P.S. I used 230-297 as my dates for this.

I dont know much other than he is undergoing treatment for cancer. He is selling his collection on EBay. If you want to help, ask around for the link. I got the link from Bing.

I love those joint-reign Salonina antoniniani! Nice one! I like her smile.

And as for relevant? It doesn't get any more relevant than this one, purchased from our very own @John Anthony . I suspect the portrait was done by the exact same engraver who did yours:
