Great buy, congrats! I was still looking at this one just a few hours ago, but really have to restrain myself from more for now.
My new baby, from our friend Steve's collection, arrived this morning in the mail. It's something I've had on my list (whatever my list is) for a long time, because a silver "denarius sized" coin of Tranquillina has to be a drachm, or it would cost me a kidney and an arm (should I find any on the market) and I still need them both. No doubt it will have a good place on my 2017 top coins Cappadocia, Caesarea- Eusebia, Tranquillina, Augusta, AR Drachm - AD 241-244 Dated RY 4 of Gordian III (AD 240/1) Diameter: 18 mm Weight: 2.72 grams Obverse: Draped bust right, wearing stephane Reverse: Mt. Argaeus; ЄT Δ (date) in exergue Reference: Bland, Last 58; Sydenham, Caesarea Supp. 617aa Thanks you Steve, I will keep it for you, be ensured it found a good home Q
My coin from the X6 arrived today!!!! It's amazing, better than I hoped for. Doug said: if you collect Phillip, you should have a Gordian. Or something to that effect. I took it to heart and got this GREAT silver Gordian III. The toning is awesome, and the flan is large at 5.56 grams. This is easily the favorite in my small collection, and i couldn't be happier!! I hope it's ok to use the seller's pics. Gordian III 240 AD Obv: IMP CAES GORDIAN'S PICS AVG radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right. Rev: VIRTUS AVG Virtus standing left holding branch and spear, shield at foot. RIC 56
I thought I'd bring this thread forward since the Stevex6 collection is now 40% off. I thought many of you might want to take a look see. http://stores.ebay.com/Dionysus-Coi...d=182245341&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1513&_pgn=1
Thanks for the update @Bing I'll be breaking down and purchasing a few of the coins. They are just too good to pass up.
