U.S Mint is calling for artist to design the Apollo 11 50th Anniversary coin

    So, we know what the convex obverse looks like (a reflection off the astronauts helmet; first pic below). But, I like the contestants' obverse designs much better.

    Maybe some of you are on CCAC and know which of the 18 finalists' designs are in the running as the final choice. I think the front two were expressed as being difficult to execute due to its concave face, but they may also be the favorites.

    I meant to say that the convex side that the Mint designed is the reverse side. Which is the opposite of what you'd typically see on a high convex/concave coin, hence the confusion.

    I must be thinking of other world coins like the Oceania countries. The baseball one completely alluded me when I posted. Though, I guess it can go either way with which side is the obverse.

    The ones I can think of like the Australian Northern and Southern Sky series did the same with the queen on the reverse. There are probably some that go the other way but most of the ones I have seen have the denominations on the reverse
