$280 XF Details Scratched (although I don't find the scratch to be that noticeable or bad thanks to the toning)
I'll say $150 XF- straight grade. I think the TPGS are very lenient on old toned over scratches. It will be interesting to see which way they went with this one.
There would still be a shiny area where the two coins came in contact with each other - especially if it were an edge or rim. The "frost" would be removed.
This was a hard one to score! We had beefer, pickin and grinin, jwitten, and johndoe with 3 marks... @Johndoe2000$ wins on the price tiebreaker as I paid $81 The scratch is there (in the middle of the bust, extending from the neck), but it isn't too striking (meaning your eye does not go straight to it...actually I had to search for the scratch before I found it). This was cracked for my type set and I was happy to get it for the price as I watched worse examples go for $90-$100+

Man, until you pointed it out I didnt see the scratch either. I was looking for what people were saying and couldnt find it! Great coin
I'll post one if it's ok. I will have to read up on the rules before declaring a winner though! Here's a gold toner that I don't think I've posted on the toning premium page. Straight Grade? If not, why? Grade range? Price paid?
UNC Details - scratched - $280 ...I still really like the look of this coin, but without what I think is a scratch (from the eye to the cheek area) this would be a much more pricey coin.
For clarity... MS, and UNC are considered the same thing, so, even if the slab says UNC, MS is an acceptable term....right???
