Looks like a fake coin. Maybe a toy coin.
Not a US Minted coin at all.
    Where does it say Germany?

ok now I see it. Since your coin shows stars I thought it was continuous.
But once again. This is not a US Minted Coin.
I don't know why it would say Germany.

I truly believe it's some kind of cast fantasy piece.
Maybe made for a piece of jewelry.

Yes. It's a piece of jewelry.
Here is an example I found on the internet

Interestingly jody's has "United States of America" arched over the eagle, while that one has gibberish. Perhaps they had trouble with the other one?

I hope this kind of play money wasn’t made in Germany, because it doesn’t seem to be a quality product. And the eagle looks like a rooster ;-)

You will note that in the first two that paddyman showed they are from two different obv dies. The third piece is from yet another obv die.

And the OP piece is from yet ANOTHER obv die.

I do think it's from roughly the same era as a US Indian gold piece.

My guess? I tend to agree that it's vintage play money, made by a German firm.

Judging from his webpage, our member @willieboyd2 might know a little bit on this topic.
