I bought one of these the other day, 1992 Equatorial Guinea, 15,000 Francos. I didn't buy it for the high denomination, but because it is 106 mm and 32 troy ounces of .999 .
One kilo of silver? I hope that whoever spends that coin has reinforced pockets. It would hurt the toes if it fell through a hole.
That's a real beauty there Steve! Man that coin is HUGE! Here are a couple more I am going to get for this type set. Beautiful design, I think it's really interesting how they added the Month and the Date. Don't recall seeing a coin with the Month and Date on it before.
Received these the other day. After a little soak in verdicare they Look nice and almost proof like. I am still on the hunt for a nice problem free 50 million Notgeld coin. I will take my time until the right one comes along.
WoW! I wonder what Mike Mezak on Coin Collector would do with that one! Comparing that to M40 106mm recoilless rifle round ( actually 105mm), that is one BACoin! May I ask what you paid for it?
So I get from what you are saying that folk didn't use the Notgeld notes for shopping? I seem to remember photos with folk with a wheel barrow load of notes to buy bread. Was that staged?
