What do you mean by a "die coin"? That is not any sort of numismatic terminology that I am familiar with.

DewDew: Go back to the other culture. These people are just rich snobs who only know how to buy gold and silver while looking down their brown noses at simple new collectors.

Rich? Hardly. Knowledgeable and expect others to do a minimum of earlier background research? Guilty as charged.

Just my personal opinion, but this REALLY isn't the first place you should come after being exposed to a YouTube video. There are things one needs to know (not much, but some) before this place is appropriate. Yes, many will disagree. But that is how I feel.

Haha people like this crack me up! I've never bought a coin in my life :D so if you assuming we are all rich snobs go back from where you came (YouTube!). @yartiques the reason we responded like this is because he is not taking the time to learn about them and then give an educated guess, all he did was throw some pennies down on a table and took a picture and asked.

    Thanks,
    Jacob

I meant to say double die, and yes Im new at this coin thing. I did watch some youtube video just not sure if some of my pennies are double or not. The first 1970 S looks like its double on the Liberty but not on the numbers? the 1976D next to it looks double on the numbers but not the letters. the 1969s doesnt look double but is it small or large date.If the community would be more friendly and educate other new comer then this forum would be better. I didnt know what to expect from this forum either. so i threw those coins there to get feed back and more understanding of double die and small or large date

    1st off Welcome to CT!!!

It is really hard to tell what is going on with these coins. Could you try cropping your photos to just the coins?

Who are you to give advice? If you had been around here long enough, you'd know that this is one of the questions we answer about 100 times each month, and the only reason newbies come here is because people on BoobTube screw everything up with half-fast answers.

There is nothing wrong with being new.:) There is a lot wrong with believing what you hear on BoobTube.:spam: You have to forgive everyone, here, because we get these same questions from ex-BoobTube newbies about 100 times a month:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:........no........make that 100 times a day:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:........no........make that 100 times an hour.:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: There! I've exaggerated as much as they do on BoobTube! Now! Does that make you feel more at ease.:woot::woot::woot::woot::woot:

By the way, the correct term is doubled die. Hang in there, kiddo! Before long, you will learn to develop a thicker skin like the rest of us.

Get into the habit of taking obverse and/or reverse images of one coin at a time. Begin by cropping your images to remove all of the unnecessary background. Then resize the images before you upload them.

Do you have any sort of photo-editing software? If not, I think there are some free versions online, like PhotoScape (I think!)

FWIW, I wrote it before I even saw your post. Don't let it get you down. That's why they make erasers!;)

I want to learn all I can about collecting coins and want to read what other fellow coin collectors have to say about their collecting. Coin collecting is one of my passions, but I have problems figuring out computer software, taking pics of my coins and uploading stuff. Like on this site, I would like to upload a pic for my Avatar, but it's not working for me, but thats ok and I'm not going to worry about it. Coin Talk has been real helpful for me.
