Recently I started going to a new bank to get my halves, they use Brinks service. And so far I've gone through around 15k in halves (30 boxes or so) and I have only found silver in one box. And that one box contained 8 silvers, including a walker. Is this just a coincidence, or is something going on with brinks?

Here are my success rates based on over 50,000 MWR half dollars searched:
    1. Loomis: 0.42%
    2. NF String & Son: 0.31% (unsure of Courier)
    3. Brinks: 0.12%
"I don't often buy boxed halves, but when I do I prefer Loomis."

So, I got this week's box and wanted to follow up with my experience. I was of course expecting to be back to normal but was pleasantly surprised by what I got this time.

Not going to get rich off of this but it's still nice 50+ years after the fact to find stuff worth keeping.

    Happy Hunting!

With all the silver searchers those numbers will only go down ...

I tried some silver half searching .. came up empty handed after a short trial.

I've been doing it for about four years. I get skunked periodically and maybe one 40% every other box. Then I'll hit a streak like the two above. Comes with the territory. Hunting is the fun part.

I love buying halves to search. You never know what's in those rolls. :)
