been late to the party on this, but have to say it's actually quite enlightening on a few points... 1) didn't think I'd be getting such a fine education on Lincoln Matte Proofs for the 1909 VDB, and 2) neat to be seeing who all the experts in this sub-specialty are.

and regardless of the position of the OP on this or the seemingly unsuccessful attempts by some to introduce sensibility to the unwilling, the facts remain:
    - Not a matte proof
    - OP seems, under the circumstances, to have had plenty of evidence it is not and the cert is an error that needs to be corrected, and that should he at some time in the future sell it or allow it to be sold, that he might make himself liable legally in some way
-this drama has gone on for 3/4 year and the cert number is not available online, which should mean PCGS has it pulled, and is not standing behind it

    Still popcorn time, though.

The only reason it hasn't went back is because PCGS told me that no one called them and reported my coin was not what it was supposed to be and I know that is a lie.. so for lying to me I'm going over to head man.. I'm going to the man who started encapsulating coins, Mr. David Hall and see what his intake will be about this whole unprofessional situation...!!!!

I'm curious Larry, did you submit the coin to CAC or was it through someone else?

So, you are upset because you were told no one called them, like on the phone, and that is a 'lie' so now you have to see the head honcho, like in person, to get this straightened out??

Clearly, I will need a lot of popcorn.

This is the thread that keeps on giving.

Should we start taking bets on how long it is until someone stumbles upon the coin being shopped around?

They wouldn't even have too, it was posted on the PCGS forum as well where they definitely saw it there which is why the cert was killed and they wanted a second look

Rule No 1. Definitely never trust someone who tells you to trust them on something. Especially when it is known to be incorrect.

Rule No 2. Pop more popcorn.

@Larry Pelf, I'm very curious as to the answer I asked about who sent it to CAC? Was it you or through someone else?

I'm glad to hear it. Which membership did you get? How long did it take to get it, and what did you have to do to get it?

Also, how were you notified of the results?

None of those questions have anything to do with your member number

I'm not asking for your membership number. There are a lot of people on here who would like to know how you got your membership, what it takes to get it.
