The obvious Tetricus II, and the mostly hidden one:

The hidden one is actually cooler, I believe it is a rather scarce issue for him (PAX), and I may keep it. Full photos:

I was a bit surprised nobody ID'd this one (bottom right):

    It's a Quintillus:

This is a funny little Theodosius AE4, not of much interest except for a double-strike (note the letters on his head). Still, pretty much a dud?:

Under the Tetricus is a Postumus slug (Hercules temple, but awful - I don't have a photo), and a Gallienus Laetitia that's nothing to write home about itself:

Here we have a neat-o Byzantine lead seal:

@Roman Collector and @chrsmat71 helped me with this on an earlier thread, but I haven't yet had time to follow up much. Will be fun, though! Seems to be St. John on the obverse, and the seal may have belonged to an archdeacon.

Finally, to complete the showing of all coins at least quasi-identifiable in the group shot, we have a common Valens AE3, Rome mint:

There was another, bright green one hidden in the lot. I think I'll keep this one:

I'm just amusing myself at this point, but why stop? :D Of the coins completely hidden in the pile, there are only a couple more worth commenting on individually:

A Constantine Dafne. Not a great obverse, but it's the reverse that matters to me most, and it was on my want list. Keep.

Not a beauty, but a rare posthumous Constantine, IVST VEN MEM, Aequitas standing left, holding scales:

And FINALLY, the remainder of the lot (other than another Postumus slug I will try to clean):
    Screen Shot 2017-11-13 at 1.17.43 PM.png
Gallienus VBERITAS (meh), a nice Tacitus Laetitia, a decent Crispus campgate, a nice Constantine G.E. with "MAX" legend, and a couple of posthumous Constantine VN MRs, one Cyzicus, the other Alexandria.

Phew!! If you have tracked the thread this far, you have serious stamina! Overall I am obviously pleased with the lot, $16 per coin was a steal. There were more keepers than I expected; there may have been a few more lrb's than the photo indicated but some of them are neat or rare, and many are very nice. The gold coin and the Larissa drachm did not disappoint. There were a few very nice surprises too, not least the cool fourrée that zumbly drew my attention to and which Warren confirmed.

Thanks to everyone for their help with this big batch! Now it is time for the draw. Since the thread has only a few followers at this point, I'll post the winner and the coin they choose in a new thread.

You did a great job showing us the parts of the group-lot photo hiding parts of coins and then the full coins. Nicely done!

Thank you, it was tons of fun! :) And thanks again for confirming the fourrée. The reptilian part of my brain is now waiting for Doug to post one of his rare "I'm green" comments about it. (Bad, bad, bad, I know! :sorry:)

An excellent and eclectic lot, obviously acquired for a steal. The best part of these group lots for me are the unexpected finds and the scarcer types you hadn't known about before. This lot seems to have more than its fair share of those. Dunno about anyone else, but I'm green!

I wouldn't have had the chance-taker's wherewithal to play the odds like that, so major kudos to you.

    are you sure?
All of Catania Decanummiums from year 12 could find were dated
    XII
    rather than
    X
    II

Not really, but I guess I wasn't really wrong :angelic:
