Guys, I'm human. Most of the time that I am incorrect is due to viewing photos that have strange lighting, out of focus, etc..... Having the coins in-hand is 2nd-to-none as far as giving definitive feedback on coins - most of the time it's fairly easy, as most of you know, & post, and your replies are correct, of course - but some times a photo can be deceiving.
Yes, there are times in everyone's life when they are wrong, and it is very easy for most of us, you included, to admit it and move on. However, it is not your opinion that some of us are questioning. It is another person who refuses to accept that he is ever wrong. Believe me, once you have tried to reason with him and discovered that you are just you will understand my meaning. Chris
Chris - believe me, I've had my share, and then some, of people who don't believe me at a coin show, online, on phone calls, etc. when I examine their coins. I've been doing errors since I've been about 10 years old, and have been a full-time dealer for 46 years, doing both rare coins and Errors - You wouldn't believe the comments I get from people who don't want to believe their coin isn't an error, isn't valuable, didn't come directly from the Mint, etc. As I say to my friends all the time - "It's either part of my job description, or it's part of my punishment!"
Chris I shouldn't dignify your quote with a reply. Unlike you I am a human being and capable of making mistakes. And as far as knowing everything, I wish I had more time on this planet to learn as much as I could possibly learn. As far as Mr. Weinberg concern, I did not show him any disrespect, I only disagreed with his assessment. Any person who takes pride in themselves and is confident in their beliefs, should stand up for what they believe is right. USMC60
No. It's you. You never care to learn the truth and try to beat the crap out of anyone that tries to help you understand what the truth is. It's the same thing in every thread you are involved with. This thread is your normal. Maybe you should just talk to yourself.
ldhair Don't you see that's what's wrong with this world today. Someone trying to push their beliefs on someone else. Just because you believe one thing is the truth, does not mean that I'm gonna believe it as the truth. Yes I'm stubborn I'm hardheaded and basically a nonconformist. And I get extremely upset when someone tries to push their beliefs down my throat.
Unfortunately my doctor does not even want me to look at 100 quarters a day. I do what I'm capable of doing but I also have plenty of chores around the house. If you own a house you always have work that has to be done. I basically do the same thing as far as the banks are concerned. But my neighborhood branch bank, works with me on what I'm looking for. Those 4000 quarters all happened to be Ellis Island. The bank teller knows what boxes to look for, and puts them aside for me. The teller supervisor has no problem putting an order in. Last month went through thousand presidential dollars and a box I have. I firmly believe in getting to know your bank teller.
What a bunch of bull. You are the one pushing your false beliefs on others. You need to learn what you are talking about before you teach.
I only have one variety listed with Wexler. 2015-P 25¢ NE WDDR-004 “Best Of” Variety And here's one that I was surprised did not make it to the best of variety. Let me know if you have found one of these, it seems you do like cuds so check this out https://www.cointalk.com/threads/rim-cud-and-ddr.282439/
I'm surprised with the amount of quarters you go through a month, you have not come across one of these homestead rim cuds. If anyone was to come across one it would be you. I'm not so naïve to think that the one I have is the only one. Because if I have one there's has to be more. I'm not a big fan of slabbing, but I have acquired a few nice ones like that homestead. You know as well as I do the price of a coins is judged by several factors. But I believe one of them is how available is this coin. That's why have asked if you come across one of these. USMC60
You know when someone makes a statement like that. All that tells me is that person has lived a very Mundane an uneventful life, and He has experienced very little in his life. I've tried to experiences as many things in my life as I can. I've tried to experiences many things in life that I can and just because I share them experiences with you and others. I really don't appreciate you calling me a know it all. Just because your life is very uneventful from what I can see. You have to experience things through what you read. There is a big difference about someone who reads about something. And a person who actually goes out and lives that experience. And as Mr. Weinberg has told you I'm not the first person that has disagreed with his assessment. And I'm sure I will not be the last. You and others will want to make a big deal because I do not Agree with Mr. Weinberg. And I have found over the years a lot of experts in their field have disagreed with other experts. It's called being human and everyone does not think the same. And if everyone thought the same this would be a very screwed up planet. Chris that's what nice about living in the good old U S of A. And having free will. We have the right to believe what we want to believe and Think the way we want to thank. And Mr. Weinberg has a right with his experience and years in the field to make the assessment that is just a piece of production metal. In Mr. Weinberg has earned the right to say he does not consider it a rim burr by his standards. And in the same respect I have the right to believe in the overall standard, if that piece of metal is still attached to the finished product, by definition it is considered a burr And it ceases to become a burr when it falls off. In most cases when it comes to flakes the general public really never sees them, unless they are actually embedded in the rim of the coin itself. USMC60
I hope that someday you will take the time to learn from others. You were taught that in basic. Yes, I understand that you were also taught to question what you were being told but you lost site of how to use that to learn. The folks you keep trying to beat the crap out of, are the ones that can help you.
Let's see we have Larry and Chris all we're missing is Moe. I'm still trying to wrap my head around your phrase The folks you keep trying to beat the crap out of, are the ones that can help you. If I want to be programmed to believe in one thing and one way, it would be acceptable to me. To listen to opinions that I just don't agree with. It is called free will and choice. I was lucky before I went in the Marines, I had several friends that had just gotten back from Vietnam. And one veteran who was lucky to come back, gave me the best advice. I remember until the day I die. Boot is design to tear you down mentally and physically. And that's a fact Jack. But my one friend told me to make it through boot, no matter what you believe lie your ass off to the drill instructor, and tell him what he wants to hear not what you believe. I found this advice worked quite well. Let me just say when I started collecting some 20 years ago, of course you get all the material- books, read up on the hobby that you're getting into. At that time I found that I disagreed with a lot of things within the hobby. A lot of things did not make sense to me, I found a lot of information was very outdated and could not be considered relevant at the time. Even more so today. I have found on this site people tend to push you towards the past what happened decades ago is basically it it happened decades ago. Coinage Production today is quite different. And NUMISMATIC terminology, at least when it comes to errors. In my terms needs a drastic makeover. That's my opinion and I'm entitled to it. The change is slowly coming, USMC60
Larry I make it a point in my life to learn something new each day. And hope I continue to do this until the day I die. The only thing I can hope for I do not lose the ability to judge what makes sense and what doesn't. You know it people used a little more common sense nowadays. We would have a lot less problems in this world. Larry let me put it to you this way you have the right to believe in what you want to believe in is right. I have the right to disagree with it. I also have the right to my opinion. Unlike you and others use the term the right way all I'm saying is there is an alternative. I'm just expressing my opinions, you can either agree or disagree I really don't care.. It's just an opinion.Unlike you and others, I'm to listen to the people that are just trying to help you learn the right way. Often on for my working career I have heard that statement. Many many many times I have told people, have you ever looked at it or tried it this way. You don't know how many times I've gone up to my boss the owner of a company. And said you gave me my instructions but boss I have to disagree with you and I have a different way of doing what you want done, and it will save time and money. Though it may not be the set way the boss expects the work to be done. In the long run the bosses looking at the time and money it cost to do a certain project I'm going to try and keep this a little short by saying the boss is saved sometime and a couple thousand dollars that went into his pocket. Needless to say the next time we had to do a similar job, the boss changed his mind on how he wanted the job done someone has showed him a new way to save him time and money. Basically Larry what I see in you and Chris you Cannot accept the fact there is a different way of looking at things. And yes they conflict with what you consider your truth. Oh well that's life. USMC60
that you were also taught to question what you were being told. Larry I do not know who told you this statement with this Marine can tell you that's the farthest thing from the truth. And any other Marine out there will tell you exactly the same. A boot has no thoughts and especially no opinions. During boot you are the lowest thing on this planet right along with whale poop at the bottom of the ocean. USMC60
