Here is part of my large DC collection that will soon be hitting the BST or everyone’s favorite internet marketplace over the next 30 days . Definitely some reluctance as it took years and many hours to assemble this collection. I haven’t decided exactly what all I am willing to let go of yet , so please just keep your eyes open if you are interested in building your collection . . I can tell you though that I was one of the largest eBay secondary sellers of Dan’s work, a great supporter and an eventual friend even though we have never met in person nor spoke on the phone . I tried for years to find each of his issues and can tell you that is a daunting task when you are located on the East Coast and do not attend coin shows . There will most definitely be some really rare pieces and sets offered . Maybe when it’s all over I’ll treat myself to something special like a Classic El Camino and drive around like the Big Dog DC Anyways for now this is my situation as I am working on a project that requires some funding , but hopefully I will return to fill in the collection again one day soon . Happy Hunting and signing off
Update on my "pocket Peace." It's been close to 3 months now. The most dramatic difference was in the first week or two when it went from BU to what you see below in the first set of images. Now it's slow going but as you can see she's getting there. Hopefully she'll be a p01 by the time Dan releases the 2021 version lol Mid August 2017: Mid November 2017:
That's going to be pushing it to get P01 in 4 years. My 1922 Peace has gone from AU to VG/F in just over 5 years and I never leave the house without it. It is looking good so far.
Chris and Dave, do y'all put the coin with other coins and keys? Or, is it in a pocket by itself. I'd be worried my keys would gouge the surfaces.
My order of 15 Carr pieces at ANACS is finally ready to ship. They received it Sept 28th. Not one single 70. I think I'm about done with ANACS.
Mine got in line the same day as yours but no grades for me. I guess maybe Monday or Tuesday I'll hear. I sent 15 mostly circulated coins. An assortment of Lincolns Morgans, Seated Libs, Standing libs etc.
I have it in with a lowball 82o/s Morgan and a handful of change, mostly nickes & quarters. Plus whatever else I put in the pocket like keys or whatever. It would probably take way more time if it was just the single coin in a special pocket.
