1. I'm not sure you understand the definition of an unethical practice as even if he were offering, he has the right to rescind an offer at any time he chooses. There's nothing unethical about offering something to sell (or buy) and then change your mind, so long as no one had to commit funds or hold something because of the offer.
2. He could've meant "if you're interested in seeing them", or "if you're interested in hearing more about them", or he could've meant he was interested in selling. And perhaps he when he said "I wasn't actually offering" he meant "I wasn't actually offering... to you".
3. Yes, he can be a bit ornery, and he's rubbed me the wrong way before, but I know I've rubbed a few others the wrong way as well. The thing is, if you're going to make such an insulting insinuation as to say someone is being unethical (which I have also done on here, but certainly not to @V. Kurt Bellman ) please make sure you have the grounds for making that offhand comment.
4. I would've personally taken your quoting my member number as a veiled threat that you were somehow going to report me. Perhaps it wasn't intended that way, but truthfully, it really makes you look bad when you grasp at such petty straws just to "win".
5. In short, some advice we all (including myself) could use: think before you speak and be nice.

I sincerely hope you're a member too so they can revoke it for wasting everybody's time. Everyone here who isn't an idiot, (yes, a finite number for sure) who knows anything about me knows I nearly never sell ANYTHING (hey, people who don't even vest-pocket deal are still allowed here, right?), so I actually DESIRE you to go make that complaint to my dear friends at the ANA, from whom I am greeted twice a year with handshakes and hugs.
