I don't see it especially on the last 3 pictures. Maybe a picture at an angle to see the raised Die Break. It's all the dark spots that make my eyes think there is another dark spot between the B and the E
Here's an image from mine dino-lite . It only takes 1mp images, but great for color shots . You can click on the image and it will show up in your browser . The site having a hard time with BIT images ..
Hello Rick. What happened you usually provide better photos than this. Oh yeah I was 4 AM in the morning, I have those kind of days to. I have been told this ever since I joined coin talk, a cud always involves the rim of a coin. Maybe that's why you couldn't find it on cuds on coins It looks like to me an unusual die break.
Cuds on coins is an in depth glossary to anything having to do with die breaks, BIE's fall into that category. You should check it out.
There's no die chip there. If so, you would see the raised metal between the letters BE in all of the photos - look at #4 & #5 - no raised metal, just discoloration. It's a stain, and not a die break or die chip.
I'm sorry maybe I misunderstood your reply. I think you suggested I check out cuds on coins. LOL I just have to because I have several listings on cuds on coins. USMC60 PS And twice as many on Wexler site.
There's something there Fred, It's raised . It would be a weird spot, for a blister . Coins in early die state too ...
Fred you know as well as I do not all die breaks causes raised metal on the face- surface of the coin. If a die has a stress fracture in it, that stress fracture usually transfers to the coin being struck. At least that's what I have found in the coins that I have. I like to say and a stress factor or microfracture 98% of the time you will not have raised metal. USMC60
I said that I don't see any die chip or die break. If you see, in-hand, a micro-fracture, that's fine. I just dont' see a chip or break, based on the photos.
