Ken Dorney Yea, I'm Cool That Way...

Maybe I have been looking at this too long. Cant seem to find it anywhere in my books, so maybe someone knows what it is. Honestly it seems to be familiar, but my brain is fried from attributing too many coins this month already.

    18mm, 4.70 grams.

I thought the same thing . Here are 2 coins that were struck in Marathos-Phoenicia. Hope they could help with their Phoenician lettering. Beren O.JPG Berenk R.JPG Marath O sear 6042.jpg Marat phoen BMC 56.jpg

Do you have BMC Phoenicia? That is the only book I have that might be helpful. I know Marathos coins to have the date on the left typically, I have not seen one like yours before.

That's cool they were able to narrow that one down!

  11. @Ken Dorney with it being that rare, are you going to have it professionally cleaned or have a go at it?

I never clean coins, so I will leave it alone. Besides, I like the soil.

The top coin posted by @7Calbrey matches a coin from the "bag of Romans" that I haven't been able to figure out. So, this is a big help!

I know that wasn't the point of the thread.

Still, getting lucky in case like this is never a bad thing.
