Based on past performance Friday is the day to go for collectors.
Thursday is dealers running around buying/selling with each other.
    Saturday many tables are empty.
Sunday you can hear an echo.

I've always only been able to go on Saturdays but this year due to Friday being off for Veteran's day I will be able to go then. Looking forward to it :)

Could I find new coins from around the world or mostly old?

There are lots of modern world coins at the show.

I should be on the bourse by about 10:15 Friday morning.

    Yes. :)

From the door, the tables near the side wall to your right will be World/Ancients. You will likely find an eclectic assortment of Ancients at all price levels, and a fair assortment of World issues mostly concentrated on OFEC-type collectors, probably lacking somewhat in high-end pieces but not lacking in country variety.

Baltimore is very much a dealer-dealer show, a chance for dealers to interact and exchange money/coins personally with eyes on the product. It's less public-oriented than either smaller or larger shows, even though it's among the largest of its' kind. It's big enough to attract dealers from longer distances who don't get together very often, but not in a location which makes collectors want to travel from Boston, for instance.

There will be plenty of gold, plenty of bullion, plenty of Morgans at all price levels, all the major Copper guys, and if the past is any indication a large quantity of Type coins with some curious omissions. I never know what's going to be poorly-represented that time until I get there. :)

I'm going Friday with my son. I have a feeling Friday is going to be packed as it's a federal holiday.

Yes, I will be there Friday too... until I retire and can travel more BW shows are pretty much all I can get to.

This. I've found some great coins at Baltimore, but I mostly go there to sell, attend club meetings, and do my TPG submissions in person. There are a lot of specialized dealers there, so it's a great place to unload just about anything.

Clearly, it all adds up to a single night hotel stay. I'm sure we can all appreciate this helpful, timely and kind advisory.

I'm going Thursday right when it opens. Prefer to beat the crowds on Fri. I almost always go Thursday.

Don't you have to pay to get in on Thursday?
    Unless you've got a table.

Nope, you only have to pay if you want early bird 10 am admission. Opens free to the public at noon on Thursday.

I'm going to try to go on Friday. Call it an early day at work and drive down. I worked extra on Sunday so I can justify cutting out a little early. (Plus it will be my birthday gift to me even though Birthday is on Thursday, a couple of my buddies from the coin club go down on Friday.) This will be my third time there and from my first post about the Baltimore show until now, I have figured out how to enjoy myself at this show. I can't afford the vast majority of things here but the best thing that I get out of this show is the knowledge I get from paroozing and talking to everyone. I'm not a chatter but you get to put two and two together from what you learn and you can actually see it here since this show is so large. I enjoy my time there, now! I hope to meet some new people there as well.
