If you want to purchase a bright coin, I would be more than happy to purchase the one you showed and asked about lightening. And I'm sure I'm not the only one. Just let us know where and when you list it for sale.

I'm curious as to how one achieves this. I can't imagine lightening color, instead of going from dark color to bright white, but I don't know . . . do you have photos, before and after?

I don't have images of the before, and unfortunately I didn't keep the NGC slab so I could look it up - live and learn. Looks much better in person. Natural sunlight.

I guess that the dealer buddy has better success selling the
bright white Morgans, rather than nice coins that may not look nice at first because of dark toning. And so, he automatically dips everything. Last coin show I attended, every single dealer had hundreds of blast white Morgans. I couldn't even look at them any more, it was blinding.
I raise my offer to 15% over spot.

Beside the two options you gave us to vote for, there's a third option . . .

Find it a new owner who is more attracted to it.

I didn't vote because the options are very vague.
    I'd ask:
    Leave in current state
    Dip
    Try Acetone Dip
    Get it slapped
    Wire brush

Use a sander and turn it into a low relief 1921. Then consign it to your world traveling expert to peddle it as a one-of-a-kind rarity.

Less work to just dip it for a VERY long time.

The exact formula I have seen used on tons of 21 Peace Dollars. Washed out and lusterless, but white like they were minted last week

I once asked Frank, "May I be frank?" Frank said, "Is that your name?" I said, "No, my name is Eddie." Frank said, "OK, be Frank." :)

Did you buy this coin as a nice AU, or uncirculated? If the seller sold it as BU, it isn't, because that stands for "Brilliant Uncirculated", which this coin isn't because it is toned. If you aren't happy with it, sell it and find one you are happy with. It's like marrying someone and trying to make them into the spouse you want, rather than waiting until you find the one that fits your checklist. Trying to change them usually ends in divorce, and brings unhappiness and misery - just like screwing up a perfectly good coin.
