*I bought glasses today for the first time. My Microscope won't show copper color, the whole reason I bought it.It's shiny and copper. Anyone have a cheap scope they love? Thanks Tom.
It's not perfect - it's a lightly circulated Memorial cent, and Abe's got a dark patch on his jawline - but yes, it's not bad looking, and being able to see it surely makes a difference, doesn't it? I used to enjoy near-microscopic close vision, but now, on the darker side of 50, I have to wear readers. Time marches on.
I bought mine off of Amazon and have encountered the same problem. I also found that it appears to show doubling when none is present due to the light and the reflection. Especially with newer cents. Play around with the lighting and the distance the scope is to the coins. Set it up on a couple books, zoom in and out. I found that you can get an ok photo from those cheap scopes.
I get more sarcasm in this group than any other. I makes me wonder if most of the folks on here are children. Thanks for taking the time.
