Do you find coins like this appealing or ugly?

Speckled toning, without "pretty" color. I liked the originality of it, but not sure if I liked the overall look, so I wanted to solicit other opinions.

Heck, that's SO last year. I switched to an electric sander ages ago and you should see how very spotless...and featureless...my coins get. All shiny and everything and no stupid faces or writing to get in the way of that Deep Brilliant Enhanced Proof Mint Uncirculated Cameo State glittering mirror effect!

 

I like it. Sure, it could be better, but it could also be a lot worse.

 

Also an objectively meaningless question, since it asks for a subjective opinion and not a technical determination. But, hey, that is precisely what the vagaries of taste, preference and inclination are for.

 

As good as the last one came out i think you should dip it. Im gonna guess the details are hard to see, on account of the toning and it being so small

 

Dipping this coin again would be the coup de gras!
Why ,por que because it was dipping that got it to the state it's in now.
You aren't going to remove all of the toning on the services,and devices.
The specimen has merit and plenty of details, at this stage messing with it's surfaces is only putting its value in the minus numbers.
Fairly good date ,rpd, pretty no but again enough,better to leave it as is ,then to roll the dice,and coming up snake eyes!

 

Not very attractive. Anything you do to it might improve it visually.

 

My first thought was that it would be a shame to see this become like many Half dimes I see with clear fields and then little random splotches around the devices. I'm just a casual Half Dime collector but those are always an instant pass.

I suppose you never know until you try but it seems safer to flip as-is to me, though I'm biased because I like the current look.

 

At least there is the reassurance of it having worked well before.

 

This is like a tennis match...the suggestions pro and con are literally bouncing back and forth one here. How will I ever know just who to agree with?

It's going to PCGS untouched. I bet AU58. My pics don't show the cartwheel luster.

 

As a H-10 collector you can put your money on someone who knows first hand that any futher attemps to improve this specimen will end up the seller netting less than paid,as well as owning it for quite sometime before it sells if it does sell.
Or is moved to the reduced for quick sale box.
