Hey I just started collecting. I found this quarter and I thought it looked interesting and I did some research on it.

I was hoping somebody could tell me if it's worth anything. Thank you!

I've been collecting and/or accumulating those particular quarters since they first came out forty-one years ago, but it's always been primarily for personal, sentimental reasons since that was the year my son was born. Consequently, I now have dozens upon dozens of them in my possession, almost four Whitman folders full as a matter of fact. I suppose that if you had an example of this Bicentennial quarter in really pristine condition, such as a Brilliant Uncirculated or Proof version, you just might have something of value, but other than that I can't imagine that they could really be worth much, especially considering there are still so many millions of them out there.

Your Bicentennial Quarter is a normal circulated coin...

Like others have said, it's a normal circulated coin, minted by the hundreds of millions and worth face value. That said, it is interesting because you don't see many of them anymore. i saved them when i started collecting because they were different than the usual eagle reverse, and that got me interested in researching different design types of the past.

As I noted in my earlier post regarding this subject, I've been saving these since they first appeared in 1976, and in the first few years they were literally everywhere. But as you pointed out, they are much, much more difficult to acquire in change now, as their prevalence in circulation has become ever more scarce year by year.

These were the forerunner of the State Quarters. Just like those, everyone saved the Bi-Centennial quarters, halves and dollars, so there are lots around. They just don't show up in circulation like they once did.

I have never found any of these in pocket change. I have only found a couple in bank rolls of quarters that I get and I occasionally hit up a car wash or two on the way home and throw a jackson or two in their change machine. I've gotten a few from the car washes! Keep it. Nice find!

I just deposited over a hundred bucks of them into my bank account. I offered them up at face value and didn’t have a takers.

So pray tell, what exactly are you going to do when the Zombie Apocalypse comes and the only fractional currency accepted in the realm of the newly dead is the Bicentennial Quarter?:zombie::vamp::mad::eek::mask::hungover::rage:
