Help!,... I've found a 1921 with a strong DDR on the "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" "IN GOD WE TRUST", in some leafs and two extra tail feathers. I have searched all coin sites for over a month and nothing comes out about this year with a DDR, the only year is 1901 with the 'shifted eagle' and thats it. Today I talked on the phone with a guy certified by FCGS in my area and he said that he has never seen or heard anything about this year with DDR. Please look at some of these images I am posting,..... thanks for your help!!,...

Have you tried VAM world? it is most likely attributed.

I'm interested to see more images. The ones you have shared so far show a mostly flat and shelf-like appearance and no split serifs...which, unfortunately, is a key characteristic of machine doubling (which would not be a DDR.) Again, would like to see more pictures.

For me, your photos aren't too helpful. It would be better if you took new images from directly overhead rather than at an angle. It would also help to include images of the entire coin because sometimes markers can help to identify a particular VAM. Perhaps John Baumgart, @messydesk will be able to help you.

Forgot to mention, there is also a lamination error at the Obverse (see image)

Nice lamination. However, it is not a doubled die, it is machine doubling. Machine doubling can be very dramatic on Morgan's because of the size of the coin and the depth of the relief of the design elements.

Along with serifs and shelf-like appearance, machine doubling makes the "doubled" devices look smaller. Looking at the M in America, and the leaves, it's machine doubling. Try doubled dies will be like two playing cards offset from one another - the same size for each, and it will make the overall look larger.

See how the uppermost surface of the leaf is narrower then the part of the leaf against the fields? That's indicative of MD, not DD.

1921 is plauged with machine doubling.

As others have said, this coin is machine doubled. The secondary letters are smashed by the die hitting them a second time, and the primary letters are a little smaller in size than they're supposed to be.

Just leave a note with it as to what it is, and is not, otherwise, they'll come here with the same question! :D

Add some of the explanation, too, otherwise they'll come here wondering what machine doubling is. ;)
