U.S. Mint officials will not strike circulating Sacagawea dollars in 2007 and 2008 as mandated by a 2005 act, saying a 2007 law supersedes the earlier act.

by doing this, the mint save a lot of money. that is a wise moved. they can use all 2000 and 2001 sac dollars.

 

You know you may have a point there. We can start getting SEVEN year old coins into circulation.
Given the numbers minted we should have enough to last us well past 2008.

Just put them in mint sets and proof sets indefinitely. The mint makes money on those as well. Circulate the BILLIONS they've already minted.

Supply and demand. Supply is high - demand is low but it still retains value of a dollar no matter what.

 

So are my 2007 Sackies rare then?

 

Probably right up there with the 1804 Bust Dollar.
